About Candidate
My name is Salvador Castro, and I am a mathematics teacher with a BSc in Mathematics from Cardiff University and a PGCE in Mathematics from the University of Oxford. Over the past few years, I have taught in a range of secondary school settings in the UK and worked as an online tutor, supporting students with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning needs.
I enjoy helping students develop confidence in mathematics by encouraging them to think critically, ask questions, and understand the reasoning behind what they are learning rather than simply memorising procedures. I believe that creating a supportive and engaging classroom environment is essential for students to reach their potential, both academically and personally.
Outside of teaching, I have a strong interest in languages, history, and different cultures, which has inspired me to pursue opportunities in international education. I look forward to contributing to a school community where I can continue developing as an educator while helping students achieve their goals.
