Job Description
British Education Korea (BEK) Prep Campus is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and inspiring Primary Music Teacher to join its vibrant teaching team for an August/September start. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate music educator who wants to make a meaningful impact on the musical development of young learners within a high-quality British education environment in South Korea.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing students’ confidence, creativity, and appreciation of music through engaging, imaginative, and age-appropriate lessons. Working with primary-aged children, the teacher will inspire students to explore music through singing, performance, composition, listening, and practical musical experiences.
This position is ideal for a dedicated Primary Music Teacher who is passionate about delivering outstanding learning experiences and who enjoys being part of a supportive international school community.
The Role – Primary Music Teacher
As a Primary Music Teacher at BEK Prep Campus, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging music lessons for primary-aged students. You will create a positive and inspiring classroom environment where children can explore their musical abilities and develop confidence as performers and creators.
You will teach students across the primary age range and encourage them to develop key musical skills through practical activities, including singing, rhythm, instrumental work, music appreciation, and composition.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Primary Music lessons following a British-style curriculum.
- Creating engaging, creative, and age-appropriate music learning experiences.
- Developing students’ understanding of musical concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, notation, and performance.
- Encouraging students to participate confidently in singing, instrumental activities, and performances.
- Supporting school concerts, assemblies, and musical events.
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs and abilities of individual students.
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and the wider school team.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive music learning environment.

Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree with a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, B.Ed., or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Music in a primary school setting.
- Experience working within the British Curriculum is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan engaging lessons.
- A positive, flexible, and collaborative approach to international education.

- Candidates currently based in South Korea are highly desirable, as this allows for a smoother transition into the role.
- Applicants who are currently overseas will also be considered if they have the required documentation and eligibility to obtain a Korean work visa.
- Candidates with existing Korean visa status or relevant visa documentation will be prioritised.
