GAFL

Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages (GAFL) is a distinguished language-focused high school located in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. It is celebrated as the first Korean high school to adopt the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme within its international curriculum department. This pioneering move has positioned GAFL as a leader in globalized education.

The academy has cultivated a diverse and accomplished alumni network, with graduates gaining admission to top domestic universities such as SKY (Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University) and renowned international institutions. In its early years, GAFL operated as a boarding school, providing students with structured schedules and support under the supervision of external dormitory inspectors. The dormitory facilities included a laundry room, gym, and a highly popular on-campus convenience store.

GAFL’s students have consistently demonstrated exceptional academic performance, ranking third in South Korea’s 2011 College Scholastic Ability Test.
