International School Brunei

Established in 1964, International School Brunei (ISB) is a not-for-profit institution managed by a Board of Directors, a governance model that continues today.

In 2015, the school transitioned to a cutting-edge, 22-acre campus located near Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei Darussalam. That same year, ISB introduced ‘The Residence,’ a modern boarding house accommodating up to 120 students aged 11 to 18.

ISB’s educational journey begins with Nursery for children as young as two years old. From Year 1 (age 4) to Year 9 (age 13), the school follows the National Curriculum of England. Students then move on to the IGCSEs (ages 14–16) and the IB Diploma Programme for Pre-University students (ages 16–18).

The school welcomes over 1,100 students from more than 40 nationalities, reflecting its non-selective admissions policy. ISB consistently achieves outstanding academic outcomes, with IB Diploma results surpassing global averages. Its graduates successfully enroll in top universities worldwide.

ISB also operates a second campus, ISB Seria, located an hour from Bandar Seri Begawan, dedicated to primary education. In 2021, the school launched the ISB Centre for Inclusive Learning to assist students with complex learning needs. Additionally, ISB offers an English Language Centre (ELC) and a CACHE Adult Learning Programme to further enhance its offerings.
