Kazakhstan International School (KIS) – Astana is a distinguished international school with a vision to offer the full International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school provides a comprehensive education that combines academics, arts, and athletics in an environment designed to inspire excellence and foster a lifelong love of learning. Starting in August 2024, KIS Astana will begin by offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students from Kindergarten through Grade 4.
Founded in 1998, KIS has a strong heritage of student-centered, inquiry-based learning. Originally established as the first Montessori-based kindergarten in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the school has always emphasized quality academic achievement alongside social and emotional development. Building on this foundation, KIS Astana plans to develop into one of the select number of schools worldwide to offer the full IB continuum: PYP (Reception to Grade 5), Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 6 to 10, and the Diploma Programme (DP) for Grades 11 and 12.
