Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to teach in Casablanca while building your career in international education? The British International School of Casablanca is seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher to join its growing Prep & Senior School team starting in August 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified educators who are interested in teaching in Morocco and working within a supportive British international school environment. The Role – English Teacher (Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4)
The successful candidate will teach English Language and English Literature primarily to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. Teachers are expected to deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to develop strong literacy, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
The school currently offers Pearson Edexcel IGCSE English Language (4EA1) and English Literature (4ET1). Experience with these courses is advantageous, though teachers with strong experience in other IGCSE English programmes will also be considered.
Teachers are encouraged to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, pastoral support, and collaborative curriculum development.
There may also be opportunities for the successful candidate to offer an additional subject such as Sociology at KS4 or KS5, although this is not a requirement for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum and IGCSE standards
- Teach English Language and English Literature to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Support students of different academic abilities through differentiated teaching strategies
- Prepare students for success in IGCSE English examinations
- Monitor and assess student progress through effective feedback and assessment
- Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
- Participate actively in school events, enrichment programmes, and extracurricular activities
- Maintain high expectations for student engagement and behaviour

Requirements
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Honours degree in English or a related subject
- Experience teaching within the UK education system or British international schools
- A current, clear DBS / ICPC or equivalent police background check
Experience with Pearson Edexcel IGCSE (4EA1 and 4ET1) or the ability to teach Sociology as a second subject would be considered advantageous but is not required.
