Job Description

Calvin Manitoba International School is seeking a student-focused College Counselor to guide high school students in Grades 9–12 through the university application process for the 2026–2027 academic year. This role is ideal for an experienced counselor passionate about helping students gain admission to universities in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Asia, and beyond.
The College Counselor will work within the Manitoba (Canadian) Curriculum, providing guidance on course selection, standardized testing, Advanced Placement (AP) programs, and university applications. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and faculty to ensure each student is fully prepared academically and personally for post-secondary education.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise students individually and in small groups through university applications, including Common App, OUAC, and UCAS.
- Provide one-on-one counseling, essay feedback, and application support.
- Write counselor recommendations and manage submission of school documents.
- Guide students in course selection aligned with Manitoba graduation requirements.
- Coordinate and advise on standardized testing and AP programs.
- Engage parents through workshops and ongoing communication about the university process.
- Build relationships with university representatives and coordinate college visits.
- Collaborate with faculty to support student academic and personal development.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of college counseling or university admissions experience.
- Native-level English proficiency with strong writing skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling.
- Experience with the Manitoba curriculum or Canadian curriculum.
- Korean language proficiency is an asset.
- Experience with PowerSchool and Good Education is preferred.
- Previous international school experience and knowledge of global university admissions.
