Calvin Manitoba International School is seeking a dedicated Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will teach middle school students across grades 6–8, delivering engaging Social Studies instruction aligned with the Manitoba curriculum. This role emphasizes inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, global awareness, and fostering a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the school’s educational philosophy and commitment to holistic student development.

The Middle School Social Studies Teacher will guide students to develop a strong understanding of history, geography, and global perspectives, helping them become responsible, informed, and globally minded citizens. The role also includes collaboration with colleagues, participation in school-wide initiatives, and support for extracurricular programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, teach, and assess Social Studies lessons aligned with the Manitoba curriculum.
  • Encourage inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and active classroom discussion.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support individual student growth.
  • Develop students’ understanding of history, geography, and global perspectives.
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and educational teams to enhance curriculum delivery and student engagement.
  • Promote responsible citizenship, global-mindedness, and social awareness through classroom and school activities.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and extracurricular programs such as clubs, competitions, or service activities.

Requirements
  • Valid teaching certification (Manitoba or another Canadian province/territory) or eligibility for Manitoba certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education with a teachable major or specialization in Social Studies, History, or a related field.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience teaching middle school students in Social Studies.
