Job Description

FlyTeachers is recruiting a qualified AP Physics Teacher for Calvin Manitoba International School, a K–12 Canadian international school delivering the Manitoba curriculum in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced high school Physics teacher who enjoys inquiry-based learning, student-centred teaching and preparing learners for university-level study through AP Physics.

Key Responsibilities

As an AP Physics Teacher at Calvin Manitoba International School, you will:

  • Teach high school Physics, including AP Physics classes, following school and Manitoba curriculum guidelines
  • Design engaging, inquiry-based lessons that build strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills
  • Prepare students thoroughly for AP Physics exams – content, skills and exam strategies
  • Use a range of formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and provide meaningful feedback
  • Integrate technology, experiments and hands-on learning into the Physics classroom and lab
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development and assessment design for Physics and science
  • Maintain a safe, organised and well-equipped science laboratory environment
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents and colleagues about learning, progress and wellbeing
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development and whole-school initiatives
  • Support co-curricular activities, science clubs or STEM projects as part of the wider school life

Requirements
  • To be successful in this AP Physics teaching job at Calvin Manitoba International School, you should have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physics or a closely related field (e.g. Physics Education, Engineering with strong Physics content)
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed., PGCE, teaching licence/certification)
  • Proven experience teaching high school Physics; experience with AP Physics or similar advanced programmes (IB, A-Level, etc.) is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of the AP Physics curriculum (mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, modern physics, etc.)
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for mixed-ability and multilingual learners in an international setting
  • Excellent classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative, flexible attitude and a genuine passion for working with international students
  • Willingness to participate fully in the life of an international school in Songdo, Incheon

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching in a Canadian, Manitoba or North American-style curriculum
  • International school teaching experience
  • Experience coaching students in STEM competitions, science fairs or robotics clubs
