The school

This international school holds the esteemed title of Japan’s most ancient international school. Accommodating students from a wide array of nationalities and faiths, spanning ages 2½ to high school, the school is ensconced in Yokohama’s historically international enclave—a significant gateway for foreigners during Japan’s closed-country policy. With a foundation rooted in the American school system, the institution encompasses the Montessori Preschool, Elementary School (Grades 1 to 5), Middle School (Grades 6 to 8), and High School (Grades 9 to 12), supplemented by the Ecole Française, which extends French language programs. Commencing in Grade 9, students embark on a journey culminating in the IGCSE examination in Grade 10, progressing to the IB Diploma Programme for Grades 11 and 12. The school also offers opportunities for Advanced Placement classes and preparation for the PSAT or SAT exams.

From its iconic waterfront and bustling markets to its museums, parks, and cultural festivals, Yokohama provides a captivating setting for educators to thrive and contribute to a rich educational landscape.
