Job Description

About the Role
Haileybury Almaty is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics with strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire pupils in the Senior School. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching that promotes strong academic progress and supports students in achieving excellent outcomes.
The school is particularly interested in candidates who have a strong ability and experience in teaching Mathematics, and experience teaching learners for whom English is not their first language is preferred. This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about their subject, committed to high standards, and eager to contribute to a vibrant international school community.
As well as teaching Mathematics, the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in the broader life of the school, including contributing to the Co-Curricular Programme, supporting pupil wellbeing, and helping to promote the school’s values of integrity, empathy, leadership, and ambition.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach Mathematics to Senior School pupils to a high standard
- Support student progress, attainment, and examination success
- Create a secure, stimulating, and well-managed learning environment
- Use assessment and student data effectively to improve outcomes
- Set challenging targets and inspire pupils to achieve their best
- Contribute positively to student behaviour management
- Use ICT effectively to promote learning
- Participate actively in the school’s wider Co-Curricular Activities programme
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leaders
- Support the school’s pastoral and safeguarding priorities at all times

Requirements

The School
Founded in 2008, Haileybury Almaty is a prestigious not-for-profit British international school located in the vibrant city of Almaty, Kazakhstan.
