Role Overview – High School Biology Teacher
Singapore School, Pantai Indah Kapuk is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and highly skilled Biology Teacher to join our high school science department.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons in Biology across Lower Secondary, IGCSE, IB Diploma, and Pearson BTEC Applied Science levels. This role will also involve supporting modules in Biology within BTEC Applied Science, a vocational-based qualification delivered to Grades 9 and 10.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach Biology in multiple curricula, including Cambridge, IB, and BTEC, and will have the flexibility to support practical laboratory work, assessments, and exam preparation. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Biology lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE, IB Diploma, and Pearson BTEC curricula
- Support students in developing a deep understanding of biological concepts, practical skills, and scientific inquiry
- Deliver BTEC Applied Science modules in Biology at Grades 9 and 10
- Prepare students for success in IGCSE and IB examinations with a focus on academic excellence
- Create engaging, interactive, and hands-on learning experiences that foster curiosity and scientific thinking
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate a range of learning abilities and styles
- Assess and monitor student progress through coursework, practical assessments, and examinations
- Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to enhance teaching practice
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, departmental projects, and school initiatives
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and staff
- Contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities within the school community

Requirements
- Qualified teacher with a recognised teaching certificate
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualifying teaching experience

- Prior experience in engineering or willingness to contribute to BTEC Engineering modules is desirable
